Family

I can't say how blessed I feel to have such a beautiful family! I was thinking about what was it that made us finally decide its time to have kids, and it was the passing of my grandpa in March of 2007. As we gathered around his bedside in his final days that came to quickly, I was amazed to see how each of us loved him but in our own ways! A few days after the funeral I looked at John and told him how much I loved him and that I was ready to start having kids and he agreed with him! I was in a way shocked that he was ready as well, but so blessed to begin that new chapter in our lives. Well since 2007, we have been blessed with a son, John Paul Reyes IV and a daughter Corley Madyson Reyes. I could not have asked for better children and they are the light of my life now! I love to watch them grow and do new task each day. JP amazes me with what he comes up with and I sometimes just have to laugh inside. Corley, I just love watching her walk with a huge smile on her face! So reminds me so much of me it is scary. (I know my mom and my sister would agree).

The following photos were taken by Regina Penney, she is a friend from high school that I was able to catch up with at a Tech football game and learned what she was now doing and I am so happy that she has found a great talent that the Lord blessed her with! As I was driving to ensure that I knew where this location was, I noticed that there was a dirt road and that if the timing worked that it would be a great spot to take a family shot, because we could get the Tall City in the background! You can't see it as well, but I know its back there. I have always liked the view of the Tall City as I was returning from trips for Lubbock and Dallas, it always meant home was so much closer!

Potty!

This morning, Feb 1, 2011 we woke up to snow!!!! Last night my office already decided that we would not start until 10am, which I was shocked once I woke up and found out that MISD did not even do a delayed start, but I took advantage to have a fun morning with my kids. As I was eating breakfast I could hear JP say no poopie, (yes we are in the attempts to potty train), so I thought I better go check! I found him on his big boy potty with his diaper on the floor and pants off!!!! I was such a happy and proud mommy!!!! I ran to grab my camera and this is what I found when I returned!!!!! Are you ready........

Yep you got it Corley is copying everything big brother does now days!!!! Do you think I could get a 2 for 1 in a few weekends when I lock myself to the house to potty train JP????

So what did JP do once sister got onto his potty, he pulled the drain in her bath water!!!! Oh well!!!! I just had to laugh and smile and give them both big hugs and praises, (for JP being on the potty that is not pull the plug on her water)! What a great day to start my February!!!

1st Birthday Party!

I was so excited for Corley's first birthday party to arrive that I just couldn't stand it!!!! She has amazed me so much in the last few months with everything that she has done and is learning! The house was packed with family and friends waiting to join in to help us celebrate your 1st your a life! Of course no birthday party for one of my kids is complete until we have our Famous Leslie Cake!!!! Leslie has been making cakes for my family forever!!!! I just loved Corley's cake as it was simple but adorable!

Time for presents!! You really were not into presents but also probably because your big brother was helping you and once you found one certain present you were done with the rest o the presents! You ask what that one certain present is......

Well here it is! Your Godfather who spoils you rotten got you a Rocking Elephant. Chad searched this town for a Rocking Horse but found this and just loved it and so did you!!!! You just had the biggest grin on your face and I wish I had a camera on Chad's face because his excitement in your gift was great as well!!!! You rode your Elephant for ever that night!

Happy 1st Birthday Corley

Happy Birthday Corley!!! I can't believe that your birthday is already here!!!! I can't even being to tell you how much having you in our life means to your dad and I! We love watching you grow this first year and see all the changes you made and how fast you adjusted to things in your life!! You are an amazing little girl! You were born weighing 7 lbs 13 oz and 19 inches long and made your grand entrance at 12:25 pm, and the first comments that were made by myself, daddy and Grammy, "WOW she looks just like JP and the face she is making is such a JP face!!!" You do look like your brother still, but you have a personality all to of your own and that makes us smile everyday!

You just started the other day leaning in to give kisses to your family and that makes me smile to watch you give me kisses and to others that we love! I am proud of you and you started walking Jan. 11, 2011 and shortly after that you moved to a big girl sippy cup and just on Monday you cut your 4th tooth! You have done so much in just a 2 week period!

I can't wait to celebrate many more birthday with you and I am ready to have mommy daughter days of getting pedi's/mani, make overs and shopping!!!!

Thank you Lord for our little blessing that you granted us with a year ago!

Happy Birthday

This was Corley on Jan 28th, as we are getting ready to leave the hospital to go home! I can't believe how much she still looks like this and doesn't at the same time! What a beautiful little girl you were and still are!

Corley this morning before we left to go school. I was so sad that I had to work today, but we had a nice dinner with both sides of your family and you were all smiles through out dinner! You even took a nap on the way over. You must have known that you were going to have a good time and need rest before you arrived!
I just love this photo!!!! This is her at school in the birthday hat!!! I went and got her and her classmates muffins for their afternoon snack!!!! I just smile every time I see this!!!!!

Corley started walking on 1-11-11

What an amazing day today was!!! I went to pick up JP for a doctor's appointment and went and checked on my baby girl and was told that she took her first 2 steps! My first reaction was "I missed it" and then I asked the girls, did you get it on video. Well they are not allowed to have their phones out when they are carrying for so many angels so I was glad to know that!!! I couldn't wait to share the big news with her daddy!!! Needless to say he was so excited for her! He hasn't seen it yet but I know he will! We got to Grammy's house and she did not want to walk, its like she knew we wanted to see her do it and she was rebelling- (wonder if she is going to take after her mommy in that area, lets hope not!) then all of a sudden I looked up at her and she was walking to her Grammy!!! Then she got up after a while and saw her brother and walked over to him!!! So all in all she probably has taken about 9 steps today!!!! I can't believe she is starting this before she is one! I figured she would but wasn't 100% sure!!! After all she does have a great big brother to chase after!!!!

The other big even today was that she on her brother's motorized Thomas the Train and figured out how to make it go!!!!! She loves it!

What a wonderful and exciting day today has been!!!!

New Year! Welcome 2011

This was our first New Year's Eve that John and I went out for since 2006! Pre kid days! It was so nice to get out and have fun with family. Went to Jeanette's and played Michael Jackson on the Wii which was a blast and had tons of laughs! JP stayed up and helped us ring in the new year and Corley well she passed out at her regular bed time! JP getting ready for the New Year and playing the Wii!

We are only 6 days into the New Year and so far its going great!!!! I have started a Bible reading plan thanks to the help of the You Version for my phone and I hope that I can continue with that through out the year. I have lots of great friends you are going to become parents for the 1st time or the 2nd!!! I am blessed to have a beautiful family that God has given me and I am beyond Thankful for that!!!! Here's to a great 2011 and I can't wait to see the adventure we will have!
